Torus Trooper Pure is a fan-made modification of Torus Trooper by ABA Games, it was developed by HIZ (short for Hizuoka I believe). It maintains most of the core gameplay mechanics, specially the amazing speed so characteristic of the original Torus Trooper. But some mechanics are changed a bit and the whole playing style is changed to a different and interesting direction.

In the original game, the aim was to move from lovel to level as fast as posible, to gain more time before your time runs out, if you died you lost 15 seconds and had to regain your speed, again. So your main weapon was dodging and killing everything as fast as posible.

In Torus Trooper Pure, however, its hard to die. You can die of course, if you use the original game's tactic and never stop shooting to kill everything in front of you. But the main change in this game is that, when you stop shooting, a large shield starts building in front of you, if you press shoot once, the shield will be shot and will kill instantly everything in front of you (even bosses with just 1 hit). The shield destroys bullets, so as long as you have it in front of you, you ever die. But if a bullet hits it while you keep it, your speed is significantly reduced and (obviously) your time will run out. But if you shoot the shield it will destroy bullets and your speed will remain unchanged. It is an interesting concept to build up the shield and shooting just at the right time.

I really recommend this game, as I recommend any of ABA's games.
