Erik Svedäng is a Swedish Game Design Student and has developed a few freeware games. He has recently increased his popularity due to the BlueBerry Garden.
Blueberry Garden is a yet unreleased game (it's release is scheduled this summer, as Erik himself has announced). But has received a lot of attention due to it's unique style. This post's purpose is to get people to know about Bluberry Garden and Erik Svedäng in general.
Follow up:
I have to say the trailer for Blueberry Garden is quite confusing and strange, and it's quite hard to get any details about the gameplay from there. But he has given more details about the game in the recent interview with the Swedish Game Awards. The game was originaly going to be named "Landet" but Erik decided he wanted something more international. Blueberry Garden is going to be centered around exploration and interaction. Erik is currently looking for playtesters for the game, you have to leave in the western part of Sweeden, though.
Eric has released other games as well. All of them have an unique design, even though only one of them is downloadable, he describes the rest and they just make me wish I could play them. He has made many different kind of games, from a didactic game, a fishing game, a puzzle game and even a cellphone game. The one I find more attractive is Pixel Cave Adventures, a puzzle game designed to play in a Virtual Reallity Cave. Someday I will visit the University of Skövde (place where Erik studies).
The only game downloadable from his site is Flipside of the Divine (it is also downloadable from the Flipside of the Divine's official site). It is a platform-puzzle game in 3D, it is quite a big game (in file size - 47MB ) for a freeware game. A trailer of the game was released by Erik, you should watch it and decide wether or not you want to download the game:
Erik Svedäng did not develop the full game by himself. He was the lead designer for the game, which he developed with 12 other people:
Erik Svedäng (lead designer & producer), Daniel Kaplan (lead artist), Pernilla Akterhall (lead programmer), Stefan Hurtig (designer & programmer), Markus Nurmimäki (designer), Björn Öjlert (designer), Johan Gren (artist), Daniel Rydin (artist), Johan Åberg (artist), Petter Mabäcker (programmer), Andreas Sundin (programmer), Christian Schmeikal (musician), Robert Norberg (musician).
